Hoewel men nog niet begonnen is met werkzaamheden der Internationale Bakkerij-tentoonstelling, in het Paleis voor Volksvlijt alhier te houden, en dit niet dan na den 15den dezer zal kunnen geschieden, is het uitvoerend comité toch reeds druk aan de voorbereidingen daarvan. Ongetwijfeld zal deze tentoonstelling hoogst belangwekkend zijn. Behalve dat men er vier bakkerijen in werking zal kunnen zien, zal er ook een weverij van fijn builgaas wezen en zullen er verschillende meelmaalderijen zijn; zoowel volgens oud-systeem (molensteenen) als nieuw systeem (walzen). Men zal het graan er zien zuiveren door machines van groote afmetingen en daarbij belangrijke inzendingen zien van grondstoffen en producten der maalderij, zoowel van het buitenland als uit ons land.&#13;
&#13;
Talrijke kiosken worden in de groote zaal geplaatst en daar zal men dan brood, roggebrood en beschuit kunnen verkrijgen, evenals koek en banket, waarbij een volledige banketbakkerij wordt ingezonden. Deventer zal met zijne vermaarde Deventer koek goed uitkomen, door een combineerende inzending van Deventer koekfabrikanten. Een Engelsche broodbakkerij in werking zal voor menigeen een ongezien schouwspel zijn. De Engelschen hebben er slag van allersmakelijkste cakes te bakken, en men zal er hunne producten kunnen proeven. In deze bakkerij worden ook de uitgeschreven wedstrijden op het gebied der banketbakkerij gehouden.&#13;
&#13;
De chocolade-fabrikanten VanHouten te Weesp (chocolade is een der hulpmiddelen van de banketbakkerij) bereiden met hun chocolade het publiek in het midden der groote zaal, onder den koepel, een verrassing. Maar deze tentoonstelling zal rijk zijn aan verrassende inzendingen, want bijvoorbeeld zal men verwonderd zijn over de vele machines en grondstoffen, bij de bakkerij en maalderij in gebruik.</text>
